History of the establishment and brief introduction of the faculty
In 1988, the Ministry of Science granted permission to establish a bachelor's degree program in economics in the field of business economics for the first time and began accepting students in this field. In parallel with the strengthening of human resources and increasing demand, and within the framework of the university's comprehensive and long-term plan, the social sciences field was also established in 1992. Considering the establishment of new trends in the field of economics and social sciences, the expansion of academic fields, the increase in faculty members and administrative and educational staff, and the promotion of scientific, educational, and research activities of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, in 1988, the departments of economics, social sciences, psychology, and accounting were separated from the Faculty of Literature and Humanities in the form of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences and were established in the new faculty building on the university's central campus, the construction of which was completed in 1985. Currently, each of these departments is accepting and training students at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. It should be noted that in the continuation of the faculty's activities, the license for the field of political science was also obtained at the undergraduate level in 2007.
This faculty operates in three undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels with five educational departments: economics, social sciences, accounting, psychology and political science.
Introduction to departments, majors, courses and majors
The Economics Department has active students at the undergraduate level in the field of economic sciences, which is the result of the merger of two majors: theoretical economics and business economics, and at the master's level it also accepts students in three majors: Islamic banking, theoretical economics and economic development and planning. At the doctoral level it also accepts students in two majors: economic development and financial economics. In addition, the Economics Department has accepted doctoral students in the majors of urban and regional economics and public sector economics during the 2010s.
In the Social Sciences Department, students are accepted at the undergraduate level, which has a bachelor's degree in social research and three master's degrees in sociology, social science research, and demography, and a doctoral program in sociology - studying Iranian social issues is active in the Social Sciences Department.
The Accounting Department has active students in the undergraduate degree in accounting, and students are accepted at the master's degree in two majors: accounting and business management, and a strategy major. In addition, the accounting department is also active at the doctoral level, and the first admission period for accounting doctoral students was held in 2012. Most foreign students are studying at this level.
The Psychology Department also accepts students at the undergraduate level in psychology and the master's degree in two majors: educational psychology and general psychology, and the doctoral degree of this department is currently accepting and training students in two majors: educational psychology and psychology (without major). In addition, the Psychology Department has the most graduates at the doctoral level.
The Political Science Department is also active in the undergraduate program in Political Science and the master's program in Political Thought in Islam. In addition, since 1400, the Political Science Department has received permission to offer the Master's degree program in Political Science from the Council for the Development of Higher Education.
